Now that you have registered your account in ScriptMe, it’s time to transcribe your first video or audio.
Please follow the steps below.
How to Transcribe my first audio or video file with ScriptMe
In this guide, we’ll show you just how easy it is to transcribe your first video using our tool in 5 simple steps.
1. Login to your account
The first step is to log in to the platform. If you are already logged in, continue to the next step, otherwise we recommend you to read the following content: How to login in ScriptMe?
2. Upload a file
Immediately after logging in, ScriptMe will take you straight to your video transcription dashboard.
Here you have several options.
The first is to click on the Upload file button.
The second is to drag and drop your file into the marked area. You can also click right there to select your video or audio file to transcribe.
This will open up a window that you can use to upload files to Scriptme.io.
Before we get into the rest of the guide, let’s go over some useful tips to help you get the best results:
- Upload the highest-quality audio of the clip you can.
- We recommend uploading videos with 320×180 resolution and a bitrate of 200kbps.
- We accept a maximum file size of 2 GB. If you have a larger file, you’ll need to split it into parts under this limit.
(We will remind you of all these tips in the upload window)
If you have clicked, you have to select the file you want to transcribe. If not, it is enough to drag and drop the file.
After that, a window will open with the file name on the left.
There you must select the source language and the action (Transcription or Subtitles).
You can also add a quick note and add other files to transcribe simultaneously.
After you clicked in Done, you will see the process of ScriptMe creating your transcription.e dashboard.
The first two stages will be “Uploading” and “Preparing”, and the final stage is “Transcribing”.
3. The transcription is done
In a moment you will have your file transcribed.
You will see that the button now says See transcription. This indicates that the transcript is ready and you can go in to edit or export it.
Also, we will automatically send an email to the email address of your account to let you know that everything is ready.
You will be able to access it directly from the email or from the platform.
Now you just need to see the final result to start improving the transcription, share it or export it in the chosen format.
