How to transcribe an audio or video file

Once you have ScriptMe Lite installed, you can transcribe as many audio and video files as you want.*

*Up to 5 minutes in length for any audio file or recording in the free version.

The process for transcribing these files is straightforward, and here is a step-by-step explanation of how to do it.

Transcribe audio or video with ScriptMe Lite

Open the ScriptMe Lite app on your Mac or Windows computer.

Click on Upload file and select all files you want to transcribe.

Also, you can drag and drop as many files as you want.

In this case, I uploaded two files, one in English and one in Swedish, to transcribe.

A window will open in which you must choose the number of speakers, the audio language and the Engine you prefer.*

You need ScriptMe Lite PRO to unlock all the engines.

When the settings are ready, click on “Transcribe”.

You will see on your left the files preparing to be transcribed.

Then, it will show that the files are being transcribed.

You can work on the transcript while it is being transcribed. You will see the percentage completed in the left column.

When the transcript is complete, you will see the label “Transcribed” in the left column.

As you can see, they are ready for exporting or further editing. Editing the transcription is very easy.

Just click with the cursor on the word you want to edit and type the word correctly, or simply delete it.
