Learn how to export your transcriptions in SRT format using the editor online.
SRT is short for ‘SubRip Subtitle.” It’s one of the most popular file types used as subtitles or captioning for video or audio files and supported by most media players.
ScriptMe conveniently lets you convert and export your transcriptions to the SRT format in just a few clicks. You can then easily use the SRT file to caption or subtitle your own video/audio content.

Exporting a transcription in .SRT format
Here are the step-by-step instructions to export a transcription in the SRT format:
1. In the dashboard, you’ll see a list of all your media file transcriptions. Find the one you want to export and then click See transcription:
You will now see the ScriptMe Editor online where you can edit the transcription, play the audio/video file, or convert and export the video in different formats.
2. The next step is to click the Export button in the top right corner
Once you have the transcript edited and ready to export, click the Export button.
3. A popup will appear with all the export settings.
Open up the dropdown and then select SRT file (.srt) from the available format options:
4. Double-check the settings and then click Export to export the transcription as an SRT file:
You should see the file download from your browser to the default download folder on your computer.
That’s all! You should now have an SRT file of your video transcription that’s ready to use in your projects.
